ADULT:
Allergic Reaction - Facial / Cervical Angiodema:
50 mg IV / IM (chart IM site)
Allergic Reaction - Wheezing or Hypoxia:
50 mg IV / IM (chart IM site)
Allergic Reaction - Hypotension / Respiratory Distress / Impending Airway Obstruction:
50 mg IV / IM (chart IM site)
PEDS:
Allergic Reaction - Facial / Cervical Angiodema:
1 mg/kg IV / IM (chart IM site) once (Max dose of 40 mg)
Allergic Reaction - Wheezing or Hypoxia:
1 mg/kg IV / IM (chart IM site) once (Max dose of 40 mg)
Allergic Reaction - Hypotension / Respiratory Distress / Impending Airway Obstruction:
1 mg/kg IV / IO / IM (chart IM site) once (Max dose of 40 mg)
INDICATIONS:
- Moderate allergic reaction
- Anaphylaxis
- Extrapyramidal side effects -- dystonic reactions
SIDE EFFECTS:
- Drowsiness
- Dry mouth
Moderate Allergic Reactions:
- Facial / Cervical angio-edema (i.e.: Tongue swelling, throat tightness)
- Wheezing
- Respiratory distress
Anaphylaxis:
- Hypotension
- Severe Wheezing
- Severe Respiratory distress
- With or without palpable pulses
- Impending airway obstruction
