Albuterol

ADULT:

Asthma / Bronchospasm / Wheezing / Crush Injury / Smoke Inhalation / Severe Distress / Impending Failure

5 mg (6 mL) via nebulizer. Continuous

2 Puffs via Metered Dose Inhaler, every 2 hours

PEDS:

Asthma / Bronchospasm / Wheezing / Crush Injury / Smoke Inhalation / Severe Distress / Impending Failure

5 mg (6 mL) via nebulizer, Continuous

INDICATIONS:

- Wheezing; evidence of smoke inhalation; known asthma or COPD with decreased breath sounds and labored breathing.

- Crush injury for potassium control (Continuous O2 only).

PRECAUTIONS / COMMENTS:

- Use caution in patients with known heart disease.

- Do Not use the Albuterol MDI for crush injuries.

**Document start and end time of treatments.**
